The appearance of Man's Best Friend

I walk pass Foh Sang and Hilltop Housing while having a jog with Baby-The Pug early morning yesterday. As we were jogging along the housing main road, plenty of dogs were miggling around outside their house, perhaps owners let them out for some release...then suddenly 1 particular black dog( perhaps its a mix kampung retriever) ,with big paws and long deep muzzle came running towards us with a grin on his eyes a fierce look on Baby ( grrrr~ who on earth are you to step on our territory??), then it started to sniff around Baby...when he actually found out that we are not Harmful and just a passer by, he started to wiggle his tail and feeling to play with us... I thought dogs were naturally friendly with 20% human instact.. they are more then happy if you are able to calm them down and communicate through body language and simple words of command. Hence, i let Baby play with this (Blacky- i call it for a while)..

I suppose Baby wasnt the best well trained dog, however, due to the environment she grew up, in a trap small apartment and limited running space in KL, she was trained to understand her responsibilties, dos and dont and even be obedient i.e: less barking, potty correctly and~~ stop chewing shoes! i remember she chewed all my teddy bear in KL and even the biggest one she was trying to drag it down!....

Puppy/ or canine behavior trainning, is historically to be used for hunting , police force, fighting for protection and even leading the blinds. Nowadays, dogs had become mens best friends, womans companion and even, shows for children.... As we in Sabah having dogs arund the Taman or sometimes seeing carcass of dogs on the road are common scenario, this were infact a serious issue for metropolitan City like Kuala Lumpur, authories "put wild dogs to sleep" thats sounds cruel but yes it is true....

Basically to have a dog, they do need a basic obedient trainning.. not particularly to perform or anything but to listen to owners command and instructions... Some people naturally has a communication bond with their dogs, especially the watch dogs or the sporty type... that these group of dogs really do sacrifice for them... however vice versa, they are also behavioral problems dogs that barks non-stop at night, scartches al over their owners car, or even bite their owners, these group of dogs are mostly companion dog( in house) or Toy dogs ( manja Dog i mean) .Dog behavior trainning can make an enormous difference in our dogs life....

Have you watch the Movie Marly and Me by Jennifer and Owen Wilson?

Or Hotel For Dogs?

oh dear, these are the movies that really infuse dogs huminity to us especially to kids... Non muslim society like Japan, Taiwan, Needless to say europes... are treating dogs as FURKIDS...Perhaps for us is still unacceptable....however, when you are in situation that is so down or anger... they silently understand you and emphaty your feeling, just like any best friend does...

Ok OK enough of DOGS.... i am allocating 1 hour for Baby-The Pug Flyball trainning this sunday at my Taman basketball court... if you do need some behavioral trainning for your dog, let me try if i can help you out with this :).. free consultation, Chin do come by if you are in KK. I m sure your pug Blacky will be happy to meet Baby..

Cheers...for the weekend...

Its Her Buffday!

I suppose i am not a perfect Dog trainer, Groomer or owner..However after doing much research and experiencing blending my life with a PUG ( which is welly known as hyper, attention, and sometimes trouble maker breed) ... a year of her existence in my life has somewhat enlighten me in accepting her as part of my family member; I find when we really love and accept approve of ourselves exactly as we are, then everything in life works.....

So, in conjunction with Baby's 1st year birthday, i am throwing her a Birthday party and inviting some of her Close Doggie friends to come. I m excited to try the newly found Ham cake for the doggies, treats as well as some games for these little four legs furkid...To make it more fun, i will invite some dogs lovers as well... pet shop owners, groomers and also vet ...let see how it goes ..

Now this is my invitation card... Hopefully you can make it, Indy... :)

My View Of Financial Crisis -Global Market 2009

Bernard Madoff- Biggest Fraud in History

Anytime in this period, as we turn on BBC, CNN or even Blomberg, there is no surprise that, bankruptcy of Bank, individual or even house auction, financial con case in front of our screen. Subsequncy with the crisis and pulling out of major investors, Major con case like Bernard Mardoff has revealed day by day...The daily issue of market changing forum is more focusing on how to deal with the continuing crisis, rather then whats next to merge ahead.

The crisis win has yet to blow in asian countries, further more like us in Sabah. I would say we are still very much in honey moon stage, as the financial crisis somewhat is very much hit on the European, America as well as England. However, untouched territory like ours is in doubtful situation, no one know what is going to happen next, i met a fairly experience financial advisors lately, and asked about is his expectation for 2009... the only answer he can gave me is " It all depends" In conclusion, 2009 will be a pianful year, global recession, financial stresses, losses and of course eventually bankruptcy.

Upon my study and research, there is only light at the end of tunnel when:-

1) US: wether the stimulus packages works on the Government economy, injecting liquidity and stop the vicious cycle by boosting the economy.

2) EUROZONE : The economy crisis leaves the Eurozone shaken, with the single currency system, with the single currency system,Eurozone members trying to pull themselves out of the recession, most affected countries like, Greece, Italy,Belgium, Ireland, Portugal and Spain.

3) UK : The ability of UK to recover from the current depressed state.

4)Asia: We have yet to feel the real depressed state, however, since we are very much depending on the export economy, if the demand from europe is slumping, then this model will flop eventually. I.E : China's growth has cut to below 8% after 5 years of average gain of 16.5%; as usual Japan will deteriorate further from their current depression.

Stocks market, bonds, commodity are now at very stagnant level.. Eventually, the rich will become richer and the poor will become poorer.. further with the collapse of all currencies, inflation will happen and all goods prices go fly high...

For now, we should look into spending good money either for holiday, food or medical... Nothing is safe even in bank.. ( Even CITIBANK is at danger stage now), invest only when you are very sure. "

In the old days, man who saved money was a miser;nowadays he is a wonders....

My side of Story About Bali- Indonesia.

Bali-Perhaps a common holiday or honeymoon destination for anyone around but this island has rather changed my life.. and relatively meant a lot to me.

Bali has made me fumble and fell in love again. This guy ... i ve met 2 years back, was my friend, my business partner, workmate and now i would say, the one i ador... Have it mentioned and you'll be surprise.. Yes.. he is Emi.. the one you know from KK, Sabah. ( i m sorry but i cant help to express this to share my joy with you with my simplest, direct sentence i can think of)

Before my journey, I pray to god to indicate me a direction or at least a hint on my decision to move on with this guy. And... without due deligence, he is a total sweetheart despite being a father of 3,a boss for 64 employees and once a responsible husband before.

In Bali, we stayed with a lovely old couple Richard & Vaile, whom are the second parents for him in Nusa Dua,Karang Putih. With much surprise, i was told we are going to spend a week with them and i was shock, feeling sligt inferior and nervous.. with butterfly in my stomach.I have to admit, he has been a naturally caring, gentleman and plan ahead .. Although i was having difficulty in catching up with the Australian slang of Richard and Vaile's conversation, i was actually impressed by his way of presenting me to them. Nonetheless, anyone would appreciate it for more.

Now here is our 4 days travelling scehdule, it was a tiry one but a total eye opener for me. The hinduism citizens of Bali are generally artisitic, friendly and well verse in english..

Day 1 : Riding on our Yamaha Neo Scooter and headed Downtown.. Uluwatu for the surfers zone,Denpasar and Jembarom for Seafood Bakar. Rush Back at 4pm, and prepare for dinner with Richard, Vaile and some guests.

Day 2 : 3 hours drive to Negara, North west of Bali- to view the man made Statue custom ordered by him.. and yes.. it was absolutely tiry ...

Day 3 : Another tiry day.. 2 hours drive to Kintamani ( the active volcano),Ubud ( the little craving town and sand stone craving),on the way back, we manage to stop by the monkey garden...

Day 4 : Statue hunting for mama.. manage to get a 1/4 m tall God of Mercy for mama, gorgeous and very well defined.

Finally, preparing to return to Sabah, via Jakarta.. and thats where i felt totally uneasy and started to get annoyed with the tears that kept droping from my eyes... its Conjunctivitist!

I know, feeling and falling in love is way too easy then building and maintaining a love. Mom is going to be very dissapointed as i chose a man whom is not her league. Dad will be happy as ever that finally her little girl is in love again. However, it is too hard to make everyone happy.. i always think that everyone deserve a second chance to be their best and fall in love again.

" People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered;forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; be kind anyway.

If you are succesful, you will win some false friends and some enemies;suceed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;give the world the best you've

got anyway."Kent .M

The final analysis, is still between us and God... only when we are tested that we discover who we can be. The other side of the world still exist... with hardwork, faith and belief, and beyond heartache and fear of what lies ahead...
with that, i wish everyone had a sweet valentine day, be it with you family, friends and even love ones...

Marriage- A turning point in Life

Despite busy celebrating Chinese New Year, there were double happines happening in my family. The new born Baby Zander, little nephew of mine, and newly wedded couple, Aaron and Bernedette. Both from my Papa side cousins and Yes... there are purely Kadazan - kakadazans.

Baby Zander Avantang was born smilling on the 30 December 2008 and we had a full moon for this handsome baby on the 29 Jan 2009... his mommy Charmaine, was healthyly strong and i got Zander a Cloth Diaper from Miabambina.com for his full moon present.

For the first time, i am able to attend a typical culturistic kadazan tradition wedding, fully procedured and protocol..:) ( left out the ISO 1900 standard procedure only) .. The wedding took 3 days to complete, from SOGIT, church Wedding Mass to MAGAGUNG in POGUN... i remember my last cousin wedding, all of us ( the lim clan cousins) were running around like chicken to meant the fault and chores to make our cousin's wedding ( Wawa) a succesful one, however, in this Wedding ( Aaron & Benerdette) i have to put my hand together , give a loud applause to my che che ( Cindy M) on her well monitoring in organizing this mega event.

The most fascinating day of the whole chain of wedding ceremony was on the MAGAGUNG ceremony. I dont quite understand what actually the ritual and practise was about however i am pretty fascinated by the procedure of these newly wedded couple went through.

First both have to step on this stone, which was located at the main entrance of their house.

Secondly, a cross over of "Kadazan Hat" for both the newly wed, i really have no idea the meaning of this exercise however, i saw Moing ( nenek) was murmuring for the Gods blessing for this married couple. Once the couple stepped in,there were few protocol to be done, perhaps this is to more like the "tea ceremony" from the chinese culture, its is more like receiving blessing from the elderly ones.

So instead of serving tea, they served Tapai/Lihing, They served and drink , sip by sip, and bit by bit, and eventually..... they danced.... to represent the symbol of celebration for the newly wedded couple. So, celebration go on and on, with the company of rythmic gong and food... Tapai was served around...

Marriage, the pinnacle everyone's life, gives a sense of belonging and security to an individual... Deep down my heart, i wish.. this newly wedded couple, longevity, and love forever....

Congrats Aaron & Bern

The Flying Lion- Furiously welcoming the Ox Year

The Lion Dance during Chinese New Year has its very meaningful history and legendary. Last nite, i had a chance to view a fantastic performance of 18 Lions parading in front of Capital Hotel, approaching the public, and patron at Little Italy. Yes.. it is once a year, grand opening of Bless for the restaurant i suppose.. Perhaps its the tradision for the restaurant.

During the ancient days,Lion dance was originally helps the protect the attack of monster which came from the sky once a year to kidnap the children and woman. When the powerful drum starts, all lions on stand by to prevent the in coming monster any time around the spring season every year. This legendary perhaps sounds like a Chinese MITOS however, it is always in every childs heart especially those from the chinese primary school.

These days, Lion dance means wooing the "Bad Qi" away and welcoming the joy of Spring New year. I am amaze by the 2 kids performaing 30ft above me, .... somewhat dissppointed though, this gracious performance in fact are not done by Chinese, they are the local boys that really has the gut, and brave heart.....

A short Period With Little Italy Family

I always fond of running a deli/cafe.People always tell me food & Beverages is the toughest due to its long operating hour, man power requirement, trust and cost of raw meterial. Dreaming about it is always only a cloud, i always thought its good if i give myself a try to learn from ground. Hence, i called up Little Italy (The most croweded Italian Restuarant in Town) if i can work part time since its festive season.

Why i choose this restaurant, Little Italy ( Pasta & Pizza corner).

For Your information, this is the pioneer restaurant in town ( i mean Kota Kinabalu) that runs by an Italian Family. You can find the restaurant name in Lonely Planet as well. It is located at Ground Floor, Capital Hotel and serves the fastest Italian food in town. Perche?.. because they re the only restuarant the use the palm held order system ( like The Apartment, and Italianies remember folks?), Bagpackers, travellers around the world, locals, VIPs, VVIPs, always would love to come in their simple attire with family and has a great dinner gathering here. You can always see the restaurant owner have their meals here, they are down to earth, friendly and most of all, treat their staff like family.

My first day work

I was kinda stress out, blank, blur, nervous and even lost... I was the food runner, because its the fastest way to remember the menu. So my job is to ensure i deliver the right food to the right customers and mentioned the right name to them. Nothing comes easy, all base on experience, by the time u remember table number, you forgot the name of the lamb chop, of scalopine, or zuppa.. by the time u remember, the other table is already calling you to attend to them. Great, its a challenge... not big though...

Working on a Chirstmas Day

Working on the day you suppose to gather with your family is pretty petahtic. Especially when you see family members coming in big group to enjoy a joyous family gathering with good food , cheers and laughter.....i thought about my family too..and i started to learn "the art of family Gathering" hahaha~ so if you have problem with you parents, a great food dinner can solve the communication breakdown with them :) However, i notice all staffs here are like a big family too, they are tired, busy but happy.

Most unforgetable Customers Behavior

Well, every customers have their own way of treating a new staff like me, espeically to regular who feels that, they know it all in the menu. I met some nice and friendly customers, vice versa, i also met some snobbish patron that giving me and my collegue hard time. However, customers are always right, even they ordered the wrong food,we change for them, at our own cost... Usually, young guest ...are the snobbish one... can someone tell me y?:)

Most Enjoyable Job Scope

My most enjoyable job scope is when i get to stand behind the bar and do the washing. This is because i have an eagle eye view overall the restaurant. I can hear laughter, watch couple dating, and even chatters around me. Also i always keep on eyes on calling customers so we wont neglected their orders or attend to them immediately.

Most Funny Moment

Yes, i have this most funny moment, i met a friend of my uncle with his family, since i was with my bandanah, he couldnt recognize me, and i whisper to him... " hey you", he thought i was trying to court him and he wouldnt dare to turn over.... and then , right after his dinner with his family, i walk to his table and call his name again... he was SHOCK and hit my hand... and he laugh over my uniform, i feel good to make them happy.

Most Appreciative Moment

You know, the best thing about working here is that, once you made a blunder, the seniors will come and back you up.. this i have to admit, the seniors or pioneers or so call the managers a superb, they assist me , help me, guide me and even letting me relax so i dont look nervous in the restaurant... I would really appreciate them... especially the Botak... you know who ;)

GCC award from puppy.com.my

Few weeks ago, i received a registered mail from Pos Malaysia... been wondering who on earth will send me registered mail at this period of time.. so i took the effort ... is really a damn effort, because POS MALAYSIA KK has the worst parking station, and the worst building mail retrieving system.. i really hope they can improve in this ..

So .. i got an envolope with a some hard and heavy staff... Once i open up... i was shock.. its not my mail.. Its my buddy Baby's mail... ( man~ nowadays dogs are like human.. the have their social recognition too! )

So, i rushed home and she run towards me... i proudly announce to her that.. BABY! You are good canin Citizen..here is your award! There she goes her pendant on her neck.. and as usual she thought it was food, it was her dog biscuit.. she kept biting it and annoyed by the pendant hanging on her neck... ( so beside the poo poo and pee pee, she is after all still a lovable buddy.. i m still giving her tight trainning on potty .. patience~

She doesnt even understand what is hanging on her neck, but what i found out is that, she really loves taking pictures.

and she doesnt like to wait.. she wants it immediate shot, or she will start dancing on you lap.

Or she will just show you her ugly face like this~ " whaaaaaaaaaat is thisssssss?~"

Actually, a good canin citizen (GCC) means a simple reward to your dog that have went through the puppy obedient trainning.. this is to assist your dog understand your way and means of communication with them, command, control and converse. Pratically its a basic, SIT, STAY, DOWN, RE CALL and also NO, COME and GO command.

I am still trainning her to get use to the environment in my house... i need her to be perfectly potty trained, this is due to the contraint that i dont have a garden in my apartment.. can anyone give a suggestion?

Bravo Baby! You re the an irresistable monster!

Life of a Borneo Pug

For sometimes, i dont really update about BABY-The Pug, not because i was busy but because after a year of moving in out of Borneo, i am taking my time re adjust myself to the lifestyle here.. life is so much different when you have to be attached to ur family and relative.. I am a lone ranger.. i have been a lone ranger for almost 6 years... and i m kinda use to it.

However, for Baby The pug, life in Borneo is such a heavan for her... she is very much welcome here due to her rare species.. PUG breed and she get to enjoy a broaden and spacious greenery here.
1st season- to spayed or not to spayed

Baby started her first menses when she came out from her quarantine, blood started to drop all over the house, the cushion and even the Sofa! It wasnt only for a week, but it was more... because according to reference, dogs bleed for at least 3 week .. bit by bit..since i am staying in a confined apartment i need her to be cleaned... So, no choice and no mess- to spayed. She was sent to Sabah Animal Medical Centre ( SAMC) near Foh Sang, happyly she went in, and poor Baby came out in very drowsy mode.. She had 6th stiches at her lower bowel.. and she was conned around her neck.. this is because she needs to be avoid from licking her own wound and caused infection.

6 stiches underneath her, i can imagine she must be in pain.

She was also given this cone to avoid her from keep licking her wound.. or she will get infection.

"for me she looks like a torch light"

She vomitted several times due to the injection from Dr. and she tried so hard to eat but just couldnt have the appetite... this situation take her only 1 night... the next day, she is as hyper again. with her cut and wound, you just wouldnt believe that, animal has their own special cure and antibodi.

2nd Season-The Beach Outing

This is unbelievable, after less then a week of operation, i was told that if she could get some sea water, it would be good for her wound. So, i brought her to the beach for a stroll, and she end up swimming in the sea. I couldnt describe much about her joy for running towards the wave.. she chase after them and they chase after her in return, it just keep going and repeating untill she drank so much of sea water...

Sun bathing after a swim...

" Wow ! i can never enjoy this is kuala Lumpur"Puggy friends, things are so different although my bf Paco left me !

Today, she even met some new friends from Garage sales! Indy and Didith... too bad no picture was taken.. oh yeah.. and Zegnia... I think she is getting in love with her new life now...

I Have a Dream

I am a person who day dream alot... In KL, i always dream about myself selling things in weekend flee market, sometimes i dream about myself standing behind a beer bar serving preparing cocktail, sometimes i even dream about myself standing in a field trainning a bunch of dogs... my dream always came along with my daily living...

Ever since back here in KK, my daily living turns mallow and i have very dull daily activities...so, i started dreaming again~~~

i dream i run a small Italian Deli.....that serve very nice salami, pork cut, various type of cheese, bread, and wine... like this in the picture.Everyday, customers around the neighbourhood come

to buy their favorite salami and cheese, take away for their daily meal. Besides take away, they can also dine in, for a simple lunch or dinner that goes very well with wine of the day. Oh yeah~ may be i will also have some side dish like sun dried tomato, smoked green, red and yellow paper, even smashed brinjal... olives, garlic in balsamic venegar... and even anchovies serve in olive oil .. to go with their bread. All these food will be serve in a basket of bread.. which is the staple food for all italians.

My Italian Deli would be surrounded by friends and family ... a place for everyone to hangout and chill...
I know its just a dream.... A dream that always be underneath my pillow....

She Is Rabbies Free!

With all my heart, i wrote an appeal letter to the Jabatan Perkhidmatan Haiwan (Sabah) on the reliease of Baby The Pug from being full quarantined ( 30 days) ... and at last ... her early discharge is approved!

Can you imagine, after 2 days trauma, a 3 weeks confined, how does she react after release from a cage? She run around like a mad dog, as usual releasing her waste like a stray dog, and most of all... she starts to chew everything!!! and Yes, according to my advisors in pugslife.org... she will forget her potty trained, but after a few weeks of patience training, she will be back to her discipline self...

I know this is disgusting but she really look so funny when she poo poo...

Quarantine Officer Henry, took her out from the cage and she struggled thinking that" whats Next! after this!"

She enjoys the Sofa So much, and chewing her favorite rubber shoe for hours!

She is as cheerful as a hyper clown, and she is so amaze with the new place and environment.Adenaline rush on her, funny expression and curiosity on her face makes her a real COOL dog as told to me. Nothing much i can tell but pictures speaks a thousand words.

Some people say Dogs are men's best friends, like wise to woman as well! Baby is still under home quarantine control, and if you happen to see a pug in Gaya Street, she might be BABY-The Pug....

BABY! You did it and i am so proud of u :)
